Services & Pricing

The right support,
clearly priced.

Every service at Open Horizons is built around the same diagnostic, evidence-led approach — adapted to the student's specific need. Pricing is transparent by design.

Core Services

Three ways to get started.

Most families begin with individual sessions to establish the diagnostic baseline. The comprehensive package is the most effective option for students with significant gaps or upcoming assessments.

Pricing transparency: All session rates shown cover contact time only. Preparation, bespoke resource creation, and ongoing support materials are scoped and priced separately — so you pay for what your child actually needs, not a flat rate that bundles in services you may not require. This is a deliberate decision, not a hidden cost.

Pricing Explained

Why pricing is itemised,
not bundled.

Many tutoring services quote a single hourly rate that notionally includes everything — preparation, materials, communication, and the session itself. In practice, this means every client subsidises services they may not need, and the tutor has little incentive to invest extra time in resource creation for individual students.

At Open Horizons, session rates cover contact time only. Preparation, bespoke worksheets, assessment materials, and ongoing resource development are scoped with you at the outset and priced separately — clearly, in writing, before any work begins.

This keeps the core tutoring rate fair and gives families full visibility over what they are paying for. There are no surprises.

Curriculum Coverage

Common Questions

What families usually ask.

If your question is not answered here, the enquiry form is the right next step — every family situation is different and a brief conversation is more useful than a long FAQ.

The first session is a diagnostic conversation — not a teaching session. The aim is to understand where the student is, how they learn, and where the specific gaps lie. This takes the place of assumptions, and means that the second session is already targeted rather than generic. A brief written summary of findings is shared with parents after this first session.

Standard sessions are 60 minutes. Frequency depends on the student's needs and goals — once a week is a common starting point, but students with upcoming assessments or significant gaps often benefit from twice weekly. This is discussed and agreed as part of the initial programme design, and can be adjusted as the student progresses.

Sessions cancelled with 24 hours' notice or more are rescheduled at no charge. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are charged at the full session rate. This policy applies equally to both parties — if a session is cancelled by Open Horizons with less than 24 hours' notice, the next session is provided at no charge. Full terms are provided in writing before the first session begins.

Because not every student needs the same level of preparation or resource creation. Bundling these into a flat hourly rate means some families overpay for services they do not need, and some get less investment than their child actually requires. Itemised pricing means you know exactly what you are paying for — and the scope is agreed in advance, in writing, before any work begins.

Yes. The schools named on this site reflect the range of curricula covered, not an exclusive list. If your child attends any British, Cambridge, IB, or American curriculum school in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, get in touch — curriculum alignment is confirmed as part of the initial enquiry, and the diagnostic approach means sessions are always tailored to the student's actual school programme rather than a generic version of the curriculum.

Open Horizons Learning Support is primarily an online tutoring service, licensed accordingly through RAKEZ. Grant also holds the UAE federally mandated private tutoring permit. If in-person sessions are something you would like to explore, please get in touch directly — availability and suitability can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

This varies by student, subject, and the nature of the gap being addressed. Confidence often improves noticeably within the first few sessions once a student understands that their difficulty has a specific, addressable cause. Measurable academic progress — visible in school assessments — typically becomes clear over a half-term of consistent sessions. The diagnostic approach means we are working on the right things from the start, which makes progress more reliable than general revision-style tutoring.
